Michelle Saari Flynn

VETERAN * DESIGNER * ENTREPRENEUR

Michelle’s path as a designer has been anything but conventional.  Her passion for travel and discovery were fueled early in life by her mother, an international flight attendant, and her father, a career naval officer and submarine commander.

Michelle attained a B.A. in Theatre at DeSales University, where she trained in set and costume design in addition to her accomplishments on stage. Her next adventure proved not only surprising, but empowering and groundbreaking… upon acceptance and completion of U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School, Michelle became one of the first cadre of women assigned to a U.S. aircraft carrier.  During her career, where she reached the rank of Commander, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by serving as the logistics officer with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels for 3 years.

Love of the creative arts would again take center stage upon completion of her Navy career, leading her to the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where she earned a certificate of Interior Design. In another twist, Michelle decided to pursue her love for creating jewelry by founding Florin Arte with her husband in 2020 to bring her passion for history, art and travel to her designs.
